Succour

My friend
Let’s hold hands
I can’t find my home anymore

Let’s carry each other
Like our own clothes

Let’s talk
And be each other’s mirror

I know you have a long way ahead
My journey is no less anymore
But just for a while
Let’s cry on each other’s shoulder
And dry one another’s eyes in silence

In some time
I will be gone
You’ll be on your way as well
And if at some point
You stop to look back
Remember we held hands
When we couldn’t find our homes anymore

I believe
That should make our journeys worthwhile

Love/Hate

I have noticed it quite often
When she is angry with me
She kisses me twice as much

I wonder quite often
What would it be like
If she starts hating me?

Selfie Saints

I don’t know much about saints
Especially those modern days
Self-proclaimed ones
But I know this for sure
If they happen to meet God
They will definitely ask for a selfie

Declaration of Fundamental Rights

Marinate me
Slice me
Grind me
Knead me
Crush me to your heart’s content
Turn me into a powder
For your lovely skin
Burn me when you are cold
Use my ashes to wash your beautiful body
Drink me when you are thirsty
Put me in your tea instead of sugar
Turn me into your nail paints
If sun is harsh on you
Make an umbrella out of my skin
Wrap me like a warm coat
If it’s too cold
Melt me into an inkpot
Write your soulful songs out of me
Put your mouth to my mouth
Play your songs on this flute

Do whatever you want with me
I have given up all my right on myself

Union

I was water
Locked in snow
Before you kissed me
You unlocked me
Drop by drop
And I met the ocean

Traces

She stays with me whole day
Like fragrance stays with flower
Long after it is plucked from its garden

At night
She becomes a kiss
And covers me like a warm quilt
I sleep like a well-fed baby
Under the watchful stars of her eyes

Home-Land

When I was fighting for home
They started fighting for land

In the end
Neither could I find my home
Nor they their land

We both lost our home-land

Master – Slave Dialectics

She advises me
With such care
Such scrupulous precision
I almost forget the problem
In favour of her solution

I follow her words
Like light follows sight

She is my only lobbyist
Only voice
Who enters my mind
Like my own thoughts

She knows me
Like her own room

Sometimes in exasperation
I shout at her
“You have made a slave out of me.”
She whispers back smiling
“Be my master if you can!”

On Blindness

So long I couldn’t see
Beyond colour, caste, status, clothes and gender
I was blind with sight

So long I couldn’t see
Beyond thoughts, ideas, concepts, and opinions
I was blind with knowledge

So long I couldn’t see
Beyond I, me, and mine
I was blind with time

So long I believed
I’m supposed to see
I was blind

Reference

My poems read me
Posthumously
As an unnecessary footnote
To their illegitimate mockery
Of all popular premature uninitiated art
