“Next station is Rajiv
Chowk
Doors will open on the
right
Please mind the gap”
Every time I hear this
It reminds me of the gap you left
I will always mind
It wasn’t right at all
Our meeting at Rajiv Chowk that day
Like all other usual meetings
Made me smile
Laugh
Sad
Content
Fulfilled
Yet you never left without giving me hope
I remember your tiny long fingers
Comforted me like no other hand
The tiny bits of vegan food
You used to pick with extreme finesse
Still makes me smile
There are times
Crazy times they are
When I find you sitting on a bench
In some unknown park
Or at a secluded table in some random restaurant
They used to tell me
Delhi is the city of ghosts
I used to laugh at them
Today when I miss you
Beyond the boundaries of reality
I tell myself
“You found your own ghost in love”
I laugh at myself
Believing you must be laughing too
At my silly thoughts
But dearest Charu
Even if
I see you
I dream about you
Or I write about you
Nothing is enough to fill this inevitable void
This all-consuming black hole within me
I am still waiting at Rajiv Chowk
Let’s meet there next time…
