Fall

Last night was our 1800th night together
Last night was just like any other night

Last night like all other 1800 nights
You split me into 1800 pieces
And chipped me back together
Like an obsessive mechanist
Piece by piece

Last night again
You rhymed my name with your smile
I always remember your smile
But I forget my name

Last night I fought like a mutineer
Against your tyranny of passion
You sent me to the gallows of your arms
And hung me from your lips
Till I couldn’t resist anymore

Last night you taught me
1800 ways of making love
And when I learned all the ways
You forbade me forever

Last night was just like any other night
But it wasn’t the night of togetherness
It was the night of dissolution though
Like in an ancient tale
While setting me free
You said

“Don’t ever taste me.
I’m the forbidden fruit for you.”

I think you know very well
What happens next

Someone falls in love forever…

Azaadi

Putting one’s lips willingly
To a poisoned cup
Is not the mark of freedom
Knowing what for is

Kissing
Hugging
Making love passionately to someone
Is not the evidence of love
Knowing what for is

Dying, my love,
Is not the proof of freedom
Knowing what to die for is
