My friends can’t reach me
When I disappear
Into the wilderness of my soul
They get angry with me
Call me
Shout at me
And reproach me
For being inconsiderate
To what they believe is sacred covenant
More sacred then the cravings of
one’s soul
I listen to their endless
complaints
Patiently take all their blames
Like a self-confessed sinner
But then I look inside
And realise
Intimacy is not charitable
There is no escalation in love
If they don’t exist inside me
I can’t share meaningless coffees
with them
They will still be mad at me
Even after reading this
They don’t like me talking about
them
They want me to talk to them
But talk what?
Isn’t the silent exchange of time
Most often more worthy
Than thousand meaningless words
