Purdah

I said,
“Do you see how beautiful is moon?”
She said,
“It’s too dark tonight.”

I said,
“Do you know stars sing at night?”
She said,
“Even stars die, finally.”

I said,
“Do you see how beautiful the world is?”
She said,
“World is but an illusion for fools.”

I said,
“I can’t live without you, love!”
She said,
“Living is nothing more than a habit.”

I said,
“Your love has become a nightmare for me.”
She said,
“One nightmare is still better than two.”

I said,
Couldn't you ever be kind to me?”

She laughed and sniggered
Finished her coffee
And said,
“Let’s go. It’s getting late.”

    1. Purdah here means incapability to see what other person is showing or conveying...so pardah on both sides...
